Wyndown Stud Set for Strong Four-Horse Draft at APG Adelaide

By Gary Newton ·

Established in 1965 by Geoff Easom, Wyndown Stud has long been one of South Australia’s most successful and respected breeding nurseries, producing winners across the country for more than half a century.

Among the many standouts bred and raised at Easom’s One Tree Hill property are Bendigo and Stawell Cup winner Glamour Chief, dual Southern Cross champion Leftem For Dead, and a host of talented performers including Muchos Gratias, Feisty, Powderkeg, Skye Rocket, Aftanoondelite, Chuck Wagon and My Used To Be.

A loyal supporter of the SA yearling sales, Wyndown Stud will present four well-bred youngsters at the 2026 APG Adelaide Sale this Sunday, March 29.

Her second dam, Rosie Robust, won 10 races and has produced five winners including Heston Blue Streak (11 wins) and Robbo. The family also features current multiple winners Errol Fin and Bohemian Braids.

His second dam, Whirlwind Romance, won 13 races and is the dam of Lovenm And Leavem, runner-up in the SA Trotters Oaks and now the dam of My Used To Be, winner of both the SA Trotters Derby and the Southern Cross as a three-year-old.

Further back sits Group 1 juvenile winner Copper Satin, along with Group 3 winner Frosty Vee Bee and Ararat Cup winner Sonya Malai.

Lot 514 – Filly (Ultimate Sniper – Tiddly Winx)

A brown filly by Inter Dominion winner Ultimate Sniper, whose oldest progeny are just three but already include 11 winners.

Her dam Tiddly Winx won six races and this filly is only her second foal.

The second dam, Android (15 wins), has produced several smart performers including Deadline (6 wins).

The third dam, Murgatroyd (Waverly Niatross), is one of the true gems of the Australian stud book, producing seven individual winners—all inside 2:00—including Dungeon Queen (16 wins), Marzzz Barzzz Bazz (12 wins), Oohlala Lady (8 wins), Major Reason, Marty Major, and others.

This deep maternal line traces back through Dell Rowan—dam of SA Sapling and St Leger winner You Wish, successful sire Delta Port, and 25-time winner Roaming Ranger—to the NZ mare Verity, foundation of a family that includes Nature’s Fury 1:53.4 (Vic Sapling, Tatlow Memorial), No Damage 1:51.6 ($240,428), Gold Liner (NSW Sires Stakes 3YO), Vicbred champion Lisdon Boy, Animated 1:53.6 ($195,565), and Kapunda Cup winner Bronco Bob.

Feisty won 12 races including Vicbred heats and became an exceptional broodmare, producing dual Southern Cross champion Leftem For Dead 1:58.8 (dam of Southern Cross Consolation winner Martial Artist), Muchos Gratias, Love Of My Life (10 wins), and Spicy, dam of Brutus Smith 1:57.5 (13 wins).
