WILKES-BARRE PA – The Cantab Hall harness racing gelding Breezy Hall, still showing a victory for a $15,000 tag at the bottom of his lines, stepped all the way up to $40,000 claiming country in the $18,500 featured fast-class trot at Pocono Downs at Mohegan Pennsylvania Monday afternoon, and he made every pole a winning […]
WILKES-BARRE PA – More than three years on from writing “p, 1:46.3f” to his name, nine-year-old Ruthless Hanover (Somebeachsomewhere) is still posting fast miles against a high level of harness racing competition, as he did in Saturday afternoon’s $27,500 fast-class pace at Pocono Downs at Mohegan Pennsylvania when he won in 1:48.2. Driver George Napolitano […]

WILKES-BARRE PA – An atypical backstretch headwind combined with an atypical number of front-end duels resulting in wild fractions, leading to many come-from-behind horses posting harness racing upsets during most of the Saturday afternoon card at Pocono Downs at Mohegan Pennsylvania. The best example of the combining of all these trends was the 1:49.2 victory […]
WILKES-BARRE PA – A good helping of “pedigree” – both equine and human – helped the harness racing winners of three $16,000 events for two-year-olds at Pocono Downs at Mohegan Pennsylvania on a cool (but finally sunny) Tuesday afternoon. Team Pelling – driver-son Jack and trainer-father Brett – took the two paces, one for each […]
WILKES-BARRE PA – As they had been over the last several days, the atmospheric conditions in the Mid-Atlantic on Monday afternoon were still far from favorable, and the horses and harness racing drivers who won the featured races at Pocono Downs at Mohegan Pennsylvania used off-the-pace tactics, aided by a stretch tailwind, to gain the […]

WILKES-BARRE PA – Right now there are few Standardbred horses as well-named as Resolve To Win (Resolve), who has taken four of his last five harness racing starts, including the last two featured trots at Pocono after emerging victorious in Tuesday’s $27,500 fast-class handicap feature in 1:52.3. An Åke Svanstedt trainee, the 2025 Hambletonian champion […]
WILKES-BARRE PA – The Always B Miki gelding Congressional may not win very many “style” points for his harness racing gait, but he can go with anybody in a battle of stretch courage, just as he did Saturday at Pocono Downs at Mohegan Pennsylvania, when he won the $21,000 featured pace in 1:49.4. In an […]

Voukefalas, starting from post three, got to […]
WILKES-BARRE PA – With the two-year-olds in the spotlight this coming week at Pocono Downs at Mohegan Pennsylvania, contesting $1.4M in Pennsylvania Sire Stakes Championships and consolations on Monday afternoon, it seems appropriate that the end of this week’s local racing on Tuesday featured freshmen, in three $16,000 contests.
