CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – Undefeated pacing sensation Windemere Skye returns to action Friday evening as the P.E.I. Colt Stakes takes centre stage at the beginning of Old Home Week at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

The capital oval has a 15-dash presentation starting at 6 P.M., featuring a pair of $18,850 P.E.I. Colt Stakes Gold divisions for three-year-old pacing fillies along with $9,425 Grassroots splits for the sophomore lasses.

Windemere Skye headlines the first Gold division in race 7 from post 3 with Marc Campbell driving for trainer Earl Watts and owners Windemere Farms of Springvale and Matt Burke of Stratford. The daughter of Somewhere Fancy has never tasted defeat in 17 lifetime starts while banking $169,301.

The champion filly has won all five of her starts this season, including a 1:56 victory in her latest race on July 17 at Red Shores Summerside in P.E.I. Colt Stakes action. She was subsequently scratched from an Atlantic Sires Stakes engagement at Truro and now returns to competition Friday while adding Lasix.

Post Time Picks expects the winning streak to continue.

“Windemere Skye comes into this race off a scratch but looked great in her last victory. She has dominated the division for two years and now adds Lasix, so I’m betting we will see more of the same tonight.”

Serenity Now will provide major opposition from post 4 with Jason Hughes driving for trainer Ashley Gamester. The Sportswriter filly has three wins from five starts this season and owns a 1:55.4 record at the Truro Raceway. Bakers Dozen has post 2 for driver Corey MacPherson and trainer John Clarey while Covered In Purple (To be driven by Gilles Barrieau) and Shinerunner (David Dowling) complete the compact Gold field.

The second $18,850 Gold division lines up in race 14 with Elm Grove Uncannie leaving from post 2 for driver Ken Murphy and trainer Joe Baxter. The Malicious filly has finished first or second in all five of her starts this season and enters off a runner-up finish to Alwaysinfullforce in 1:54.1 at Truro. Baxter co-owns the filly with Earith Riley of Summerside.

Alwaysinfullforce starts directly to her outside from post 3 with Gilles Barrieau driving for trainer Mike McGuigan. The daughter of Force N Fury has five victories from nine starts this season and won her latest outing in 1:54.1.

Going For Blood has the rail for trainer-driver Ken Arsenault after winning two of her last three starts, including a 1:56 Atlantic Sires Stakes score at Truro. Bayonetta has post 4 with Campbell aboard for trainer Landon Campbell while Mysterious Ways (Hughes), who has won her last two starts, and Beach Jewels (Dowling) round out the field.

The P.E.I. Colt Stakes Grassroots divisions for three-year-old pacing fillies carry purses of $9,425 each and will be contested in races 1, 2, 3, 5, 11 and 12.

Race 10 is the MacDonald Family Pace for two-year-old fillies with a $8,000 purse. Café De Flore (Murphy) is the top selection from post 4 from the Saul Lanigan Stable. The daughter of Stay Hungry was second in her last start while race timed in 1:57.2.
