Williamson looking for change in luck

Southland harness racing trainer Nathan Williamson will be looking for a change in luck when he lines up Indulge Me (Downbytheseaside) tonight at Alexandra Park in the $200,000 G1 Magness Benrow Sires’ Stakes Three Year Old Fillies Final.
In last Friday’s Northern Oaks she was severely checked at the 800.
“I’m happy with her. She’s doing everything right up here in the north. She’s eating and looking well. She’s had three races under her belt so she should be ready to fire. The plans been all along to have her peaked for these Auckland races.”
Indulge Me draws the inside of the second row and will follow out Secret Wish.
“When you see one in the second row, your luck is in someone else’s hands. But she’s following out the favourite, shes not going to have to cover too much extra this week. Last week we were always going to have to get around them from the draw, whereas this week she’s going to be tucked away on the marker pegs you’d imagine.”
Williamson says tonight’s race isn’t the ideal distance for his filly.
“Sometimes these races are won by horses with a sharp turn of foot. These high pressure races come down to who can stick on the best. She’s shown she’s pretty good at sticking it out.”
Does he think Indulge Me is a good winning chance?
“I do. If she got a nice run and the gaps appear at the right time she’ll be hitting the line strongly. If things work in our favour I think we’re a good chance.”
