Ewen on Bulletproof Boy’s final hitout before Nullabor

A barrier eight draw in Friday night’s $1.25M TABtouch Nullabor wouldn’t have been Scott Ewen’s wish – but the ever upbeat Victorian trainer couldn’t have been happier with his horse’s final hitout this morning.

The ultimate “people’s horse” is chasing a Group One dream far from his Cranbourne base, the selection of slot-holder TABtouch in Australian harness racing’s richest Free For All feature.

The much-loved 11-year-old has been based at Greg and Skye Bond’s Forrestdale barn since Friday and earlier today had his final solid hitout over 2400 metres.

Ewen said this morning’s workout was all the proof he needed that the horse had travelled well on the plane and had relaxed and settled in.

The barrier draw for the TABTouch Nullabor is:

1. Hugotastic (Slot holder Swandoo Harness Racing)
2. Justcallmemiki (Jeavons Racing)
3. Max Delight (Mick Maxfield)
4. Magnificent Storm (Regency Foods)
5. Minstrel (Team Bond #1)
6. Mighty Ronaldo (JP Pacing)
7. Golden Lode (Team Bond #2)
8. Bulletproof Boy (TABtouch)
9. Franco Motu (Stephen Waters and Gary Hall Snr)
10. Ubetcha Tigerpie (Ladbrokes)
