$25,000 Open Trot at Dover Wednesday
War Cry Hall and Bluebird Reverend, winner of previous feature trots in clusters, return in a harness racing field of nine in the $25,000 Open/Handicap trot on March 9 at Dover Downs. First post is 4:30 p.m.
R&H Ventures War Cry Hall was a fast-finishing second for Tim Tetrick beaten by a half-length last week. Montrell Teague is back from vacation and will drive Indiana champion Bluebird Reverend, due to return to top form for Bob Reeser, Denise Dennis, Jay Johannsen and Holly Case. Winemaster Hanover, owned, trained and driven by Toby Lynch, was less than two-lengths back in third last start.
Go Byem, one of the top Delaware bred trotters in recent seasons, finished 2015 with a trio of wins and looked good in his qualifying victory last Wednesday. LA Express Stable's Five Towns has been racing well for Jonathan Roberts. Bob Shahan and Don Marine's Six Gun Hall with George Dennis drew post 2, Rolls Blue Chip, owned by Reg Hazzard and Legacy Racing, makes his first start of the season with Allan Davis driving.
Henry Wilson's Eskimo Joe and Tony Morgan will be a factor leaving from the rail while Mike Casalino's Tough Mac began the New Year with a win, second and third place finish and seems to have regained his form recently. With Corey Callahan racing in Australia, Nick Callahan will drive today.
Wednesday being top trotting day, a full complement of diagonal gaiters are on the program.
