Victorians dead heat in exciting Inter Dominion Trotter’s Heat

Victorians Gotfeelingsyouknow (Majestic Son) and Rockinwithattitude (Aldebaran Eagle) shared the harness racing spoils with a thrilling dead heat In the First Heat of the Trotter’s Inter Dominion at Albion Park on Saturday night.

Although Susan Is Her Name was put in a short priced favourite despite not having raced since May 2025 when she beat Keayang Zahara at her only defeat there was a confident air about Rockinwithattitude who is renowned for her early speed.

And as the field was dispatched Rockinwithattitude flew the mobile to easily take the lead. Angus Garrard took the trail on Gotfeelingsyouknow while last year’s Inter Dominion winner Arcee Phoenix was caught racing outside the leader.

David Miles on Rockinwithattitude was allowed to run his pace in front and with his first two quarters of 31.1 and 30.2 seconds it was clear that she would take no end of beating even though Susan Is Her Name had a one out and two back trail.

GOTFEELINGSYOUKNOW AND ROCKINWITHATTITUDE 4 JULY REPLAY

Arcee Phoenix continued to grind away with Gotfeelingsyouknow was looking for the inside run. Susan Is Her Name was trying to make up ground without success. In a driving finish both Rockinwithattitude and Gotfeelingsyouknow could not be split. Arcee Phoenix ran his best performance for some time in hanging on for third.

The dead heaters rated 1.57.5.

Driver Angus Garrard stated on Gotfeelingsyouknow.

He got a little bit bumpy over that last 10 or 20 metres but he definitely didn’t make a break until after we crossed the line. He raced terrific it was just unfortunate he got a little bit bumpy towards the end. He probably surprised me a little bit off his form but Chris (Svanosio trainer ) said to me when he trained him he trained as good as the others. So he was spot on.

David Miles on Rockinwithattitude was very pleased with the mare’s effort.

She was super good she’s blown up like a footballer already she’ll only improve let’s hope she gets some good barrier draws.

I wouldn’t have probably gone that slow in hindsight and probably bought the horse on my back into it but first week we need to get through the next two weeks. There’ll be a little bit of partying tonight.

Whilst the run of Arcee Phoenix was full of merit, it’s hard to measure the performance of Susan Is Her Name. Admittedly it was her first run for such a long time but on that run she’ll need to improve sharply against the likes of Gus.
