USTA issues statement following Woodland Run facility fire

Columbus, OH – Following is a statement from U.S. Trotting Association CEO and Executive Vice President Mike Tanner on the fire at the Woodland Run Equine Veterinarian Facility in Grove City, OH on Friday (Feb. 6).

“The USTA sends heartfelt thoughts and sympathies to the veterinarians, staff, and horse owners affected by the devastating fire at the Woodland Run Equine Veterinarian Facility,” said Tanner.

“This facility has long been a vital part of the Standardbred industry, providing expert care and support to countless horses and their owners. Our hearts are with the entire equine community during this tragic time.”

According to their website, the Woodland Run Equine Veterinarian Facility was started in 1980 by Dr. Rick Mather and construction on its curren t location at 1474 Borror Road in Grove City, OH began in 1985. It also operates a satellite facility in Florida.
