UF Lindsay Lou Who continues her march
UF Lindsay Lou Who continued her march through the Mary Wohlmuth Memorial Trot at The Meadows when she won her third straight division in Wednesday's third leg. Flowers N Songs took the other $15,000 split in the event for harness racing 3- and 4-year-old fillies and mares. The championships of four current Meadows series, including the Mary Wohlmuth, are set for Saturday, March 26.
Brian Zendt waited for the dust to settle before sending UF Lindsay Lou Who to the front. The 1-9 favorite jogged from there, prevailing in 1:57 for her fourth consecutive victory overall. My Pink Bike was second, 3-1/4 lengths back, with Regal Woman third. Leslie Zendt trains the 4-year-old daughter of Donato Hanover-Sweetspellosuccess for Upfront Racing.
In the $22,500 Winners Over $10,000 Life/Preferred Handicap Trot, Rose Run Parker, making his first start in more than seven months, moved powerfully first over from fourth and scored convincingly in 1:52.2, a lifetime mark. Early leader Tamarind held second, 6-1/4 lengths back, while Final Breath rallied for show. Dave Palone drove the 5-year-old Jailhouse Jesse-Centergy gelding, who now boasts $641,740 in career earnings, for trainer Ron Burke and owners Burke Racing Stable, Weaver Bruscemi LLC and William Haas, Jr.
