**Marketplace (NZ) Primed for Harness Million Tilt —————————————————-
The NZB Standardbred Harness Million Series kicks off at Addington Raceway tonight, where graduates of NZB Standardbred sales will look to claim their share of the $1 million prize pool.
A stunning last start victory has Marketplace (NZ) (Bettor’s Delight) primed for the $200,000 Listed NZB Standardbred Harness Million Two-Year-Old Colts and Geldings Final (1980m) on Friday night.
An overflow of nominations will see a full field of thirteen quailty two-year-old pacers battle it out in Friday’s feature race, to follow in the footsteps of race track stars Krug (NZ) (Bettor’s Delight), Akuta (NZ)(Bettor’s Delight), Merlin (NZ) (Art Major), and Cold Chisel (NZ)(Always B Miki).
Trainer Regan Todd is hopeful his stable star can repeat the dose this week, when he takes on a stellar field of NZB graduates.
But before the speedy two-year-old even hits the track, he has given his trainer a big thrill.
“It is great just to make this race, he will be my first Harness Million runner,” Todd said.
“This is why you go to the yearling sales, to have horses in races like this.”
Phil and Glenys Kennard are also the purchasers of Harness Million starters Five Crowns(NZ) (Bettor’s Delight) (NZ) and the Group One winner Rubira (NZ) (Always B Miki) who looks a serious threat in Friday night’s lucrative feature.
Stonewall Stud are set to be a powerful force in the race having purchased and qualified four runners in Bar Louie(NZ) (Sweet Lou), Treasure Cove(NZ) (Captaintreacherous), Bettors Anvil (NZ) (Bettor’s Delight) and Tact Teva (NZ) (Lather Up).

**Stella Rouge Heads Stonewall Stud Attack on Harness Million —————————————————-
Stella Rouge (NZ) (Bettor’s Delight) just needs luck on her side to be a potent force in the $150,000 Listed NZB Standardbred Harness Million Two-Year-Old Fillies Final (1980m) at Addington on Friday night.
Following a brilliant last start victory, the blueblood filly has drawn tricky spot in barrier 1 on the second row in the lucrative feature for trainers Steve and Amanda Telfer and driver Tim Williams.
Stella Rouge was a $97,500 purchase by Stonewall Stud out of the Dancingonmoonlight draft at the 2023 National Yearling Sale at Christchurch.
Stonewall Stud’s racing stable have qualified four horses for the Harness Million Two-Year-Old Fillies Final with Always B Magic (NZ) (Always B Miki), Elektra King (NZ) (Captaintreacherous) and Always B Misty(NZ) (Always B Miki) joining their stablemate Stella Rouge.
The quartet take on the Barry Purdon and Scott Phelan trained favourite in Im Sandra Dee (NZ) (Always B Miki).

**High Hopes as Odina Eyes Harness Million —————————————————-
Eleven trotters will look to follow in the footsteps of Group One graduates such as two and three year old Harness Million winnersOutamyway (NZ) (Love You), Highgrove(NZ) (Love You) and Paramount Kiwi(NZ) (Father Patrick), or potential Derby winners like Lovemeto (NZ) (What the Hill).
Part owner and driver of the blueblood filly, Ben Hope believes Odina(NZ) (Muscle Hill) will be one to note going forward, in the $75,000 Listed NZB Standardbred Harness Million Two-Year-Old Trotting Final (1980m), alongside a stellar line up of young trotting talent.
Odina was purchased by Greg Hope for $130,000 from breeder-vendors Taffy Ltd at the 2023 National Yearling Sale at Christchurch. The filly is a full sister to the Hope trained superstar trotter Muscle Mountain(NZ) (Muscle Mountain) who will also step out at Addington on Friday night.
“Being a full-sister to Muscle Mountain we obviously loved her page,” Ben Hope said.
“We have no doubt she has a lot of talent there.
Odina has been rated the third favourite for the NZB Standardbred Harness Million Two-Year-Old Trotting Final behind Ya Rite Darl(NZ) (What The Hill) and Meant To Be (NZ) (Father Patrick).
Ya Rite Darl already has feature race form on the board having won the Group Three New Zealand Two-Year-Old Trotting Stakes (1980m) in May for trainers Robert and Jenna Dunn.
Meant To Be comes into Friday night’s event after a highly impressive victory at Alexandra Park for trainers Barry Purdon and Scott Phelan.
