Tintin In America babies on fire

By Harnesslink ·

Former top New Zealand pacer Tintin In America left a couple of very impressive two-year-old winners in NSW last week.

Rippin Rupert, a Group 2 winner, made a triumphant winning return from a lengthy spell in a heat of the NSW Breeders Challenge at Bathurst, while Merrywood Paul won his first race in 1:57.7 at Penrith.

Tintin In America, who stands at the new Wingate Farm, of Jake Stockton, Wagga (NSW), has sired seven individual two-year-old winners this season. He was also represented by a ‘new’ three-year-old winner in Nizhoni (1:57.3, Wagga).

Warrawee Needy, a studmate of Tintin In America, sired the convincing winner of the Harness Breeders NSW Pink Diamond 3YO Stakes at Menangle in Ideal In Dreams (1:52.6). It was her seventh success and lifted her earnings to over $70,000.

A former world champion, Warrawee Needy was also represented by the two-year-old filly Miss Froufrou, who captured a heat of the NSW Breeders Challenge in  1:57.3 at Newcastle, a ‘new’ three-year-old winner in Miss Needy (1:58.6) and the Canadian victor PLD Needy (1:55.6).

Fear The Dragon, whose three-year-olds have banked $1.7 million in America this year,  sired four winners from his first crop last week including Future Ex-Wife (1:53.4) and Elvarg Hanover (1:54.2).

The North America Cup and Adios Stake winner is also a member of the Wingate Farm sire roster.
