Ultra consistent pacer Tims A Trooper (TinTin in America) proved he is no slouch when he came through with a late run to snatch victory in the Racing and Sports Divided Pace at Albion Park last night.

In what was clearly the most interesting open class event on the program Tims A Trooper began well from the pole for Grant Dixon but didn’t have the pace to hold out the leaders Turn It Up and then Manila Playboy.
Favourite For Real Life who had scored an effortless win at Albion Park a fortnight ago tended to race a bit ungenerously early from his wide draw and then driver Trent Dawson had no option but to race outside Manila Playboy.
REPLAY 15 FEB TIMS A TROOPER
From his second row draw Captain Shuffles was settled back at the rear with Hiranya.
For Real Life was beaten a long way from home and Northview Hustler set out after Manila Playboy. Dixon was looking for a way through and as he was getting a run Captain Shuffles started to sprout wings out wide. In a driving finish Tims A Trooper burst through to defeat Captain Shuffles with Northview Hustler a close third.
Tims A Trooper has always had to live in the shadow of his illustrious stablemate Leap to Fame ever since they were purchased together by Dixon for Kevin Seymour.
However he’s proved to be no slouch having won 11 races at Albion Park. This time last year Tims a Trooper developed an issue after finishing 7th in the Pure Steel at Melton and last night was his first win since January last year at Albion Park.
Captain Shuffles who has been prominent leading in previous races showed that he can come from behind and his run was meritorious given that he cast a plate.
