New South Wales and one of the nation’s best trotter The Locomotive (Muscle Mass) resumed with an effortless win in the Multiquip Aggregates trotters mobile at Menangle on Saturday evening.

The Locomotive made news when he was invited to take part in the prestigious Elitlopp in Sweden in May. He failed to impress in his heat so trainer Brad Hewitt bought him back soon after and he since has enjoyed a good break before his return to the track.
THE LOCOMOTIVE NOV 29 REPLAY
At Menangle, The Locomotive was drawn against an average field and as expected he went straight to the front where Hewitt just allowed him to run along at his own pace. He had an easy second quarter in 31 seconds then upped the tempo to run his final two quarters in 28.7 and 27.7 seconds. Speedy Lover was brave chasing home for second while Jungle Eyes was a close third.

The Locomotive is likely to be Victoria bound where he will be tackling the festival of trotting cups in January and February. It’s here that he may well clash with the Victorian star Keayang Zahara so he’ll need to be at his very best for these races.
The win capped a great night for Hewitt as earlier in the evening Captains Knock was successful and then his three year old filly Isla Rochelle (Sweet Lou) stormed home to take out the Ultra Air Pace in 1.50.8.
