The feature races for the young stars take centre stage at Alexandra Park on Friday night

By Harness Analyst ·

The feature races for the young stars take centre stage at Alexandra Park on Friday night with the two Harness Million finals alongside the Group 1 Breckon Farms Cardigan Bay Stakes.

The three-year-old features bring together the best emerging talent, while the two-year-old contest shapes as a high-quality clash between unbeaten and progressive types.

Here’s how the key races look to unfold.

Race 5 – Harness Million 3YO Fillies Final

2200m – Mobile

This shapes as a competitive fillies final, but War Cry (1) looks ideally placed to take full advantage of the ace draw. A recent trial winner with a consistent profile last campaign, she maps to control the race or secure the perfect trip throughout and looks the one to beat.

Time For Change (3) was excellent fresh-up in a leader/trail scenario and will take improvement from that run. With a handy draw again, she profiles as the main danger if the race becomes tactical.

Wat Next (6) resumes here and brings strong upside into the race. She has shown ability earlier in her career and is one to watch closely in betting markets on return.

Shezsofast (9) has proven she can win at this track and distance. The second-row draw makes things trickier, but with the right run she is capable of finishing strongly into the placings.

Selections:
War Cry (1)
Time For Change (3)
Wat Next (6)
Shezsofast (9)

Race 9 – Breckon Farms Cardigan Bay Stakes (Group 1)

1700m – Mobile

The two-year-old feature looks to centre around the exciting Tour Party (5) who has made a big impression winning both starts to date. His latest victory suggested he had plenty in reserve and he looks the one they all have to beat again.

Coal Fire (8) had his unbeaten run ended last start but was far from disgraced. The wide draw presents a challenge, though his ability keeps him firmly in the mix.

We Will Rise Again (6) stuck on well behind the favourite last week and should strip fitter for that effort. From a tricky draw he may need some luck, but he has the talent to be involved.

Delaney (2) has shown enough in his early runs to suggest he can play a role in the minors, particularly from a more favourable draw.

Selections:
Tour Party (5)
Coal Fire (8)
We Will Rise Again (6)
Delaney (2)

Race 10 – Harness Million 3YO Colts & Geldings Final

2200m – Mobile

This race looks to revolve around the progressive Jumal (3) who was dominant last start and appears to have a class edge on his rivals. Drawn ideally again, he looks the benchmark and the one to beat.

Freeze Frame (2) can improve sharply from a better draw after finding the breeze a tough assignment last time. With a softer trip he looks capable of featuring.

Sonofamistery (9) produced a strong win last week and continues to trend the right way. Despite the second-row draw, his upside makes him a genuine contender.

Allamericanplayer (10) has been ultra-consistent and again looks the best of the rest. He should be thereabouts with the right run.

Selections:
Jumal (3)
Freeze Frame (2)
Sonofamistery (9)
Allamericanplayer (10)
