After the exciting previous week where “The Night Of Champions” was run at Cambridge, things quieten down a bit in New Zealand with the main focus being Addington on Friday night where there are two $50,000 races being run.

Race 7 – Fillies Semi-Final  $50,000, 3YO FILLIES, 1980m

A small but even field with plenty of depth. This looks a genuine tactical battle with a few fillies drawn well attacking for the lead early.

🔹 Secret Wish brings winning form and sharp trial work. Looks ready to go to another level. One of the better chances
🔹 Cath maps to control from the ace and will take catching if left alone in front but will also be dangerous from a trail
🔹 Miki’s Deal has the toughness and class to sit handy and fight it out as she proved in her Group win at Alexandra Park
🔹 Indulge Me adds interest to the race and can feature with the right trip. A trick draw the only concern.

Selections: Secret Wish / Cath / Miki’s Deal / Indulge Me

Race 8 – Trotters Classic  $50,000, 4YO & OLDER R55 TO R89 SPECIAL HANDICAP, 2600m

Handicap conditions bring many chances into play here with pressure likely throughout. A large tricky field to narrow down.

🔹 Rock Lobster the class runner with form on the board. If she steps cleanly she’s the one to beat in this
🔹 George Eliot freshened and capable of sharp improvement at longer odds. Will do a good job this year
🔹 Donna’s Boy trial form says he’s ready to fire first-up. Stand start no issue and he will race handy to the speed
🔹 Freya ultra consistent and gets her chance to sneak into the finish again if she can find a good position early

Selections: Rock Lobster / George Eliot / Donna’s Boy / Freya
