Sun shines on first race meet at Tregaron
Tregaron saw not only the sun shine but the local equine talent was definitely on show with a number of potential stars putting their best foot forward this past Sunday, May 15.
First up FFaro, son of Doonbeg, went post to post with ease to score in the fastest maiden of the day.
Next up, Llwyns Delight showed a good turn of foot to win the Novice grade. Mattirarch, a sibling to Ffaro, kept up the family tradition and won in a fast time to take the Grade 1/2 and with John Barley, also a son of Doonbeg, taking the other grade 1 contest.
All in all four very smart individuals with lots of potential and evidence that harness racing in Wales and West is very much alive.
With a different gait Rhys Evans won the Le Trot race with his recent import Tenor Meslois, this horse with now look to win again at Presteigne this weekend.
In brief, the season got of to the very best start at Tregaron last Sunday with both the horses and sun shining brightly. We look forward to many more successful meetings ahead.
Next weeks racing takes place at Presteigne on Sunday 22nd and Tir Prince on Saturday 21st.
