Strong winds at Ascot Park in Invercargill this morning have blown over a section of the stalls used on training mornings and race days.
The section which contained fourteen stalls or tie ups was completely flattened in a strong gust of wind around 7.00 this morning.

Southern Harness General Manager Jason Broad said neither horses or people were injured.
“Jo Gordon (galloping trainer) normally has her horses there, but she decided to stay at home because of the weather,” he said.

The rubble is expected to be removed either later today or tomorrow and the Tuapeka Harness Meeting scheduled for Ascot Park on Sunday will go ahead.
“It’s business as usual.”
