Stain ready to leave his mark

By Harnesslink ·

Riverina pacer The Stain has received some support in his Group 2 quest at Menangle on Saturday night.

The Corey Parker-trained son of For A Reason has drawn barrier one in the Breeders Challenge True Blue Final and after opening at odds of $7, firmed into $5.50 at one stage.

To be driven by noted horse breaker Amy Day, The Stain was consistent throughout his Breeders Challenge campaign finishing second in his initial heat to Bar Room Banta when he broke the track record at Leeton.

The Stain then won three races in a row before finishing eighth in the semi-final to Titian Raider when they clocked 1:50.

Drawn alongside him in Saturday night’s feature is the favourite Kashed Up that was a fast-finishing third in last Saturday night’s Breeders Challenge Final to Bar Room Banta.

There are four Breeders Challenge True Blue Finals at Menangle on Saturday night for horses that are 100 per cent New South Wales bred.

The Griffith Carnival of Cups meeting is also on where Nerano, who remains unbeaten on Australian soil, is favourite for the Bidgee Bulk Griffith Cup.
