Springfield Affair eyes Victoria Cup after four straight wins
WHILE Loucasso is hogging the stable limelight, Seaton Grima is also eyeing-off features races with his rejuvenated star Springfield Affair.

A winner of his past four starts, the past three in sub-1min50sec, Springfield Affair can earn a crack at the Victoria Cup with another win at Menangle on Saturday night.
“He’s just kept stepping up, but this is another big test against some of these horses,” Grima conceded.
“If he measures up this week, I’ll look seriously at the Victoria Cup.
“I took Helluva down for the Hunter Cup earlier this year and he ran well (fifth), so this guy is worth thinking about, too.”
The former Victoria pacer has won all four starts since joining Grima’s stable.
But he faces Inter Dominion third placegetter Nyack and Jason Grimson’s star pair Dangerous and Rakero Rocket this week.
Against that, Springfield Affair has the pole and the speed to take advantage of it.
On Loucasso, Grima said the boom three-year-old was in a busy few weeks.
“He’s got a heat of the NSW Breeders Challenge, then it’s down to Melton for the Victoria Derby heat and final and then back home for the rest of the Breeders Challenge,” he said.
“He wasn’t as sharp last week as he was the previous run, so perhaps I need to step his work up a bit.
“It’s just going to keep getting harder and harder from here, but he’s so talented and it’s really exciting.”
Earlier this week Loucasso became the first confirmed $1.5 million TAB Eureka runner when he snared the Rampant Standardbreds slot for the November 21 feature.
