Several US track closures on Monday due to forecast storm

There are several forecast track closures for Monday 23rd February due to an impending winter storm.

Pocono Cancels Racing Monday, Guarantees Opening Pick 4 for $7,500 Tuesday

Pocono Downs at Mohegan Pennsylvania has announced the cancellation of their live racing program scheduled for Monday, February 23.

Live action at Pocono resumes on Tuesday, February 24, with 14 races and a 1 PM ET post time for the first race. To spice up the action for bettors, the track is guaranteeing a pool of $7,500 for the opening Pick 4, which covers the first four races.

Bally’s Dover cancels Monday races

DOVER, Del. — Bally’s Dover has canceled its harness racing program scheduled for Monday (Feb. 23) due to severe winter weather blanketing the Mid-Atlantic.
The race office will remain open; entries for Thursday (Feb. 26) are due no later than 11 a.m. (ET). Horsepeople are encouraged to use the USTA Online Entry platform to enter their horses.

Meadowlands & Winners Bayonne Closed Monday

East Rutherford, NJ – Due to the winter storm, the Meadowlands Racetrack will be closed on Monday, February 23.

The FanDuel Sportsbook at the Meadowlands and Winners Bayonne will also be closed.

Check the Meadowlands’ website, playmeadowlands.com, for information regarding Tuesday, February 24th, simulcasting and sports betting hours.

 

Yonkers cancels Monday’s live racing program

Due to the ongoing severe winter storm impacting the region, MGM Yonkers Raceway has canceled racing on Monday (February 23).

Live racing is expected to resume on Tuesday (February 24) with post time at 6:45 p.m. (EST).

Due to the winter storm there will be no entries drawn for Friday (Feb. 27) today (Feb. 23) at Yonkers.

Instead, there will be a double draw tomorrow (Feb. 24) for Friday and Monday (Mar. 2), with the box closing at the usual time of 3:00 P.M. (EST).

Rosecroft postpones Monday card to Wednesday

FORT WASHINGTON, Md. — Due to heavy snow in the Washington, D.C., area and the Eastern Shore of Maryland, and out of consideration for the safety of horsepeople shipping in to race, Rosecroft Raceway has postponed its Monday (Feb. 23) harness racing program to Wednesday (Feb. 25).
First post for the 13-race card remains 7:15 p.m. (EST). Bettors will be treated to a $19,851 carryover in the Jackpot Hi-5, offered in the last race.
