Seaside Magic headlines stellar night for Downbytheseaside

Seaside Magic delivered a standout harness racing performance at Gloucester Park on Friday night, powering home to win the Group 3 Pearl Classic Final—a result that not only highlighted the colt’s raw talent but also cemented a major milestone for his sire, Downbytheseaside.

SEASIDE MAGIC REPLAY

The Group 3 victory was one of several key wins for Downbytheseaside over the weekend. In Western Australia, he also sired Poppyonthebeach and Chase Me, both saluting under lights at Ribbon of Light meets. On the other side of the country, Avoca Blues added to the tally with a smart win at Mildura.

Meanwhile, across the Tasman in New Zealand, the red-hot stallion added a double at Alexandra Park with Double Parked and Beachbreak, further solidifying his cross-hemisphere dominance.

Seaside Magic is a colt bred with depth and potential. He is out of Playin With Magic (by Jeremes Jet), a mare who showed glimpses of class during her limited racing career. Though she recorded just one win at Bunbury, she was runner-up in the Group 1 Sales Classic at two, signaling early promise.

His granddam, the New Zealand-bred mare Cerebrano (by Lordship), adds even more black-type strength to the pedigree. Cerebrano is best known as the dam of Innocent Eyes, one of the standout fillies of her era, who captured the Victorian Oaks, Australian Oaks, Chariots of Fire, and Vicbred Final, all at Group 1 level.

With a Group win now under his belt and a bloodline rich in champions, Seaside Magic shapes as a major contender among West Australia’s elite juvenile pacers.

Downbytheseaside

At the same time, Downbytheseaside continues to make a powerful statement as a global sire of note, with rising stars shining from Perth to Auckland to add to his achievements in North America.
