Monticello, NY– Three amateur harness racing events were featured today at Monticello Raceway.

Alan Schwartz in the sulky

With the field reduced to five horses in the first NAADA trot Schwartz sent Bully Boy to lead when the wings of the mobile gate folded and they had six lengths on their competition when they zoomed by the quarter in :28.1.

From there they showed the way past the half in :57.4 and they still had three lengths on the field when they trotted by the three-quarters in 1:27.4 which was opened to six lengths at the finish. Manwilling(Steve Oldford) finished second  and Call Me Thefireman took home the show dough.

In the other NAADA trot the 14-year-old veteran trotter Zooming rallied to a one length triumph for Steve Oldford turning back the pace-setter, Mr Ridgetaker (Dave Yarock) in 2:01.2. With that triumph–the 74th of his incredible career- Zooming upped his lifetime winnings to over $1.25 million. Ladys Big Stormont finished third for Alan Schwartz.

ZOOMING REPLAY

Zooming is currently owned by Oldford Stables LLC and Buter Farm, Inc and trained by Amber Buter. The gelding paid $4.10 for the win.

A third amateur race saw Joe Lee send Amp Hanover to the lead after the quarter and rebuff any and all challenges to score a neck victory over Festive Joe (Tony Verruso) in 1:58.1. Ms McKenzie Sowers finished third with Eastender.

App Hanover is owned by Marissa Russo and trained by David Russo. He paid $4.20 for the win.
