SBSR lists a strong draft for 2027
The Southern Bred Southern Reared (SBSR) draft for the 2027 NZB Standardbred Yearling Sales in Christchurch is strong in numbers and has a real international flavour to it.
Two fillies from Diamond Creek Farm and a colt and a filly by the all-conquering Captaintreacherous out of quality Australian bred mares lead the SBSR draft for February’s sale.
John and Katrina Price are for the first time presenting progeny from their two well-bred Australian born mares, For Us All and Carlas Pixel.
For Us All a two win Bettor’s Delight mare, is out of Left For Me, the winner of ten and the dam of $1.1 million earner For A Reason. Left For Me is also the dam of Lettucereason, the mother of Leap To Fame ($6.5 million) and Swayzee ($2.6 million), so it’s one of the hottest families going round.
Carlas Pixel won nineteen races including two G1 races – a NSW Ladyship Mile and a Victoria Ladyship Cup. She was named 2018 Australian Aged Pacing Mare of the Year and her older brother Soho Tribeca won $1.1 million.
The Prices are also presenting a full brother to Chicago Bull (40 wins and $2.4 million).
Paul and Mandy Pearce are putting Braeview Kelly’s first foal – a colt by Captaintreacherous on the market.
Braeview Kelly won the G3 Norms Daughter Ladyship Stakes, G3 Frith Stakes, and the G3 Sibelia Stakes. She won the G1 Queen Elizabeth II Mile, running it in 1-49.5. She also finished third in the G1 Queen Of The Pacific.

In total she won nineteen races, was second twelve times and ran third seven times, banking $470,130.
John and Judy Stiven have their biggest draft for a number of years, with eleven yearlings under their Arden Lodge banner.
They’re presenting two Confederate fillies on behalf of American powerhouse Diamond Creek Farm. Both are from young mares with strong international pedigrees.
They’ve also got a Bettor’s Delight colt out of multiple Group One winning mare Venus Serena.
The three other colts she produced are Laver (10 wins and $175,060), Arden’s Ace (20 and $454,195) and the recently qualified Balvenie Arden.
Winton couple Julie and Tim White have the groups biggest number of yearlings with twelve, including a Classic Connection colt out of Hawaiian Hula. Hawaiian Hula is a half-sister by Dream Vacation to Gus.
Kirstin Green-Daly has two yearlings on her books including a Downbytheseaside colt out of Ragazza Bromac – making him a half-brother to Ragazza Mach, (11 wins) RR Sand Dollar (7) and Interdominion Pacing Champion and Len Smith Mile winner, Cast No Shadow.
The SBSR Tour will be held on Tuesday 12th and Wednesday 13th January and the NZB Standardbred Sales in Christchurch will be held on 17th February.
