SA Square Trotters Association launches 2025 Stallion Tender

South Australian Square Trotters Association Launches 2025 Stallion Tender.

The South Australian Square Trotters Association has officially launched its annual Stallion Tender, securing the support of leading studs to offer two pacing stallions and nine trotting stallions as part of its major yearly fundraiser.

President Jeff Proctor expressed his gratitude, saying:“On behalf of the Association, I would like to sincerely thank all the studs who have generously donated stallion services this year. This tender is our key fundraiser, with all proceeds going toward the continued promotion of trotting in South Australia.”

 The tender is now open and will close at midnight, Tuesday, September 30.

Pacing Stallions

  • My General Lee (Bellmoure Park) – Standing his first South Australian season, My General Lee has already attracted strong bookings. His early mares include broodmare gem Aratusa Lass, dam of Major Crocker and Group 2 winner Adam Crocker.
  • Raging Bull (South West Slopes Equine) – A brilliant performer with 10 starts for five wins and five seconds. By Christian Cullen out of San Sophia (Artsplace), he is the sire of Wildwest—winner of the 2022 WA Pacing Cup and earner of over $619,000.

Trotting Stallions

  • Aldebaran Zeus (Aldebaran Park) – Australia’s second-richest trotter of all time. A five-time Group 1 winner who campaigned successfully in three countries. Standing his debut season.
  • Classic Connection (Haras Des Trotteurs) – A multiple European Group winner and already sire of four winners from four two-year-old starters in his first crop.
  • Kvintet Avenger (Truscott Lodge, on-farm only) – The former “Country Cups King,” sire of Group winners including Vicbred champion Ebony’s Avenger.
  • Skyvalley (Aldebaran Park) – Dominant colonial-bred trotting sire for the past nine years, with progeny including Inter Dominion and millionaire champion Tornado Valley.
  • Sundon’s Courage (Truscott Lodge, on-farm only) – Triple Breeders Crown champion and former Australian 2YO Trotting Colt of the Year, now siring winners from limited crops.
  • Fast As The Wind (Windgate Farm) – By Cantab Hall, this royally bred star was the highest-earning two-year-old of his year in North America, banking $556,007.
  • Imperial Count (Bellmoure Park) – From limited numbers, has produced 12 winners from 17 starters, with five progeny earning over $100,000—including two past $200,000.
  • Peak (Bellmoure Park) – Group 1 winner in both hemispheres, now siring 24 winners from 27 starters, including high earners Doff Your Cap and Invictus.
  • Cardigan Boko (Bellmoure Park) – The only son of Elitloppet champion Varenne at stud in Australia. A record-breaking performer during his racing career.
