Rich vein of form continues for Moses

Home / New Zealand / Rich vein of form continues for Moses

You can’t beat a trotter in form and at the moment Moses (Father Patrick) has the form line of a very good trotter.

His win in the $20,000 Kim McDowall Painting Trotting Cup at Gore today was his third win in six starts.

Trained by Gerard O’Reilly and driven by his daughter Sarah, the six year old began well and soon took up the role of pacemaker before backmarker Fiery Bandito came round to take up the running.

“I was just lucky enough to get handy. Then Fiery Bandito came round and it helped out having a nice trail. He travelled well on the bit the whole way,” Sarah said.

At the finish Moses had a length to spare over Practical Magic.

“He probably had another gear. If something really came and challenged him he would have fought them off.”

The win was his seventh in forty three starts.

“He’s just matured and aged throughout the last year or so and he’s getting stronger. He’s been quite weak and weak in his gait, but that’s all ironed out now and he’s found his confidence.”

The win was one of two for Sarah. She won the last on the Tony Stratford trained Bettor Way.
