USHDC President Dein Spriggs was in the Cumberland Run winner’s circle, along with a large contingency from the CCBP Board Members, to present their club’s contribution to this important program.

Said Spriggs, “It’s amazing that many children have little or no food from the time they leave school on Friday until they return the following Monday and this grand program supplies over 35,000 bags of food in the backpacks of these children in need.

“We are proud to help in their endeavor to help fight food insecurity and it’s all made possible by our club members donating all of their earnings from our races made possible with the cooperation of the track here in Corbin and their exceptional staff in the racing office that cards our events.

“It takes everyone to contribute and here at Cumberland Run and it makes our charitable giving possible.”

The racing event this day of giving was won by Mistertenahkey, driven by OD Johnson for trainer John Hughes and owner Hollis Kendrick.

This six-year-old son of Racing Hill  earned his very first win of the year in 18 starts in the speedy time of 1:53.3, winning by a comfortable length-and-a-hlaf over Caviart Stoney, handled by Roy Marohn with Carronsidelegacy,GB, driven by Dein Spriggs, one-half length further back in third.

Just A Start was fourth for Adarryl Gates, Jr. was fourth while Rodman teamed with Gregoire Joret picking up the minor award.

Mistertenahkey was away with alacrity, as was Just A Start and Carronsidelegacy GB as Just A Start forged his way to the front past the :27.1 opener with Mistertenahkey in the garden spot and Carronsidelegacy hung outside in third.

Shortly thereafter, OD Johnsom moved Mistertenahkey to the front and cut the rest of the mile—:57.1 and 1:25.3 with a sharp :28.3 finale sealing the issue.

Mistertenahkey now sports an 18-1-4-4 scorecard with $25,807 earnings this semester and $208,452 lifetime.

Mistertenahkey paid $13.08 as the third choice on the tote-board.
