Race replays of the week

On North American harness racing tracks it’s all about speed over a mile trip, in Australia it’s a mix of both standing start and mobile features across a range of track sizes, in New Zealand it could be about an extreme two-mile contest or a grass track race featuring non-race winners and in Europe the champion trotter is celebrated as a king of the track.

In Harnesslink Race Replays of the Week we bring you a snapshot into the very best contests from around the harness racing tracks of the world.

EUROPEAN FEATURE REPLAY 

The famed Prix d’Amerique took place on Sunday with Kim Rinker covering the action. In the end the Theirry Duvaldestin trained Idao De Tillard (Severino) proved too strong over the concluding stages to win the biggest of all European feature races. Watch the enthralling action below.

AMERICAN FEATURE REPLAY

Garnet Barnsdale covered the $35,000 Invitational Trot from Yonkers Raceway on Thursday night. The competitive feature going the way of Now’s The Moment (Credit Winner) in 1:54.4.It was the 45th victory in a career spanning some 134 race day starts.

CANADIAN FEATURE REPLAY 

A special moment was covered by Nicholas Barnsdale on Saturday as Shay Seelster (Sunshine Beach) and trainer Mary Ratchford got that winning feeling at Flamboro Downs. Shay Seelster found enough to take control late over a gutsy Wickedly Devilish. Shay Seelster has now earned $12,014

NEW ZEALAND FEATURE REPLAY 

Bruce Stewart covered the running of the $25,000 Riverton Rural Transport Riverton Cup yesterday. The grass track feature racing appealing to the large crowd gathered to see the harness action once again. Got You Covered, an animal with a formidable grass track record, made the most of things on the green surface once again, proving too strong for race rivals.
