Photo finish camera needed in $40,000 Trot

By Harnesslink ·

The photo finish camera was needed to declare the winner of the $40,000 Open Handicap Trot at Yonkers Raceway Thursday, January 19, 2023, over a sloppy, rain-soaked harness racing track with a two second allowance by the judges.

The 4th race feature saw race favorite Nows The Moment (Austin Siegelman) first on the lead by the opening quarter mile in :28 with Credit Con (Joe Bongiorno) grabbing the two-hole seat and HL Revadon (George Brennan) sitting third.

The field raced single file to the half mile in :58 and then late in the backstretch, Brennan sent HL Revadon (Andover Hall) first-over with Flip The Switch (Jason Bartlett) second-over. They raced to the three-quarters in 1:26.2.

HL Revadon in prior win

By the top of the stretch, HL Revadon continued to gain ground on Nows The Moment and as they raced down the stretch HL Revadon kept advancing on Nows The Moment, catching them at the wire and winning by a nose over Nows The Moment. Flip The Switch was a close third. Time of the mile was 1:56.

HL REVADON REPLAY

It was the first start of the new year for HL Revadon, who is trained by Ron Burke. The seven-year-old gelding is owned by Burke Racing Stable, LLC, Weaver Bruscemi, LLC, Yannick Gingras and Frank Canzone. He paid $15.20 to win.
