Papa Ray notches 39th career win

HARRINGTON, Del. – Legacy Racing of Delaware and Reggie Hazzard's Papa Ray ($8.20, Victor Kirby) was a 1:51.4 winner in the $13,000 featured pace Monday at Harrington Raceway.

The 8-year-old Village Jolt stallion received a garden journey and held off the game race favorite Framed Art, who was outside most of the mile for a narrow win. It was the 39th career win for Papa Ray, who is conditioned by Wayne Givens. Millenium Wheel was third.

The sixth race, won by Kiss A Dragon, was named in honor of the Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce, who was enjoying their annual night at the races.

The draw for the Bobby Quillen Memorial, the marquee race of the year at Harrington, will be held Tuesday as some of racing's top older pacers are expected to compete in this year's $150,000 event.
