Maintains the top spot off a second in his first charted line of the year. Pelling: “He’s doing tremendous, but I’ve decided that I am not qualifying him this week. I looked at the schedule and there aren’t a lot of racing opportunities [for 3-year-olds], so I’ll qualify him next week. I have confidence leading up [to The Pace] that we’ll find a place to race.”

Finished fourth in the wake of what was the fastest mile of the year in the sport. A record set by Primary Colors that stood for about 20 minutes. Alagna: “The times [of the races that night] were relative to the conditions. The horse was driven properly. [At this point in the season] I’d rather be a fast-closing fourth than a tired third. You are pointing forward. I’d like to go to the North America Cup with two or three starts. These days, these horses go so fast. They’re like Thoroughbreds, they don’t need the work they used to. He wasn’t going to get in at The Meadowlands, so we’ll go against older Sunday at Chester.”

Won the Saturday night opener at The ‘Hawk without a problem. Moore: “It was a good training mile for him, basically, that’s [1:51.2] all he had to go, but it would have been nice to have a bit more competition. Our next race is the [June 4] Somebeachsomewhere, then the North America Cup. We are right where we want to be.”Breeding: Somebeachsomewhere-Lady Be Great Last Race: 5/21/2022 – Wbsb – NW3 – 1st (1:51.3) |

Makes his third start of the season on Monday in Sire Stakes action at Pocono. Brown: “They’re different [Night Hawk and Six Feet Apart]. Night Hawk has high speed and Six Feet Apart has to grind things away. I have no complaints with Six Feet Apart. He got nipped in his last start and I expect him to be even better this week.”

Caviart Camden($91,835 – 1:48.3)
|
Y. Gingras, T. AlagnaCaviart Farms |
Did well taking a non-winners of 5 at Philly. Alagna: “He was excellent. It wasn’t ideal, but I took him down to Chester. When I’m pointing for a race on a big track, I try to go on a big track.” Racing at Philly is easier, however. “I think anything you can leave in the tank will help in the long haul.” Scheduled to race next at Chester on June 1 against older.
