Timaru selections 24th May 2026

Harness analyst best tips:
Best Bet: R7  Shards Lyric
Best Value: R9  Jordan Anne

Race 1

Help Me (4) Hit the line strongly at Ashburton and the form around him stacks up nicely here. Major player.

Oliver (10) Has been improving with racing lately and another honest showing looks likely from this draw.

Della’s Fella (11) Forgive the Rangiora run after a tidy prior win. Capable of bouncing back quickly.

Race 2

Logan Rock (6) Closed off strongly last week and looks one of the hardest to hold out with even luck.

Okiwi Bay (3) Recent trial winner who maps to get a soft trip handy. Must be respected here.

Georgie Zukov (1) Freshened since the grass circuit and the ace draw gives him every chance to feature.

Race 3

Tyron Everest (2) Impressive trial winner from the Dunn camp and profiles as the horse they all have to beat.

Danya (7) Made an early mistake fresh up but stuck on fairly after. Improvement expected today.

Queensland Spirit (8) Sharp trial winner leading into debut and looks a genuine threat despite the draw.

Race 4

Deal Breaker (1) Two solid runs since resuming and with manners should go very close in this field.

Tee Ball (5) Huge late effort at Addington and only bad luck looks capable of stopping him here.

Whata Impact (2) Debut runner with handy trial form and can surprise if he steps cleanly. Top three

Race 5

Franco Newark (3) Debutant who has shown enough at the trials to make a serious impression first up.

Fei Long (2) Better draw suits and best effort would put him right in the finish today. One for odds

Better Man (1) Looked the winner before being grabbed late last time. Big chance from the ace.

Race 6

Johnny Trotter (4) Forget the last run after breaking at a key stage. Previous win was strong and he can bounce back.

Royal Del (9) Got home nicely last week and if the tempo suits can add value at odds again.

Barrytown (1) Runner-up in both recent starts and gets every chance to dictate terms from the front line.

Race 7

Shards Lyric (2) Went close after trying to lead throughout last week and gets another ideal opportunity here.

Lous Pinup Girl (6) Has been racing consistently and should be pressing forward early again. Big danger.

Belmont Valor (8) Luckless since the Rangiora win and capable of improving sharply with manners early.

Race 8

Transonic (7) Only beaten twice in six starts and recent trial form suggests he is ready to fire fresh.

Bryce’s Meddle (11) Forgive the last effort and his previous form would measure up strongly in this grade.

Berrettini (6) Useful fresh-up run at Addington and natural improvement makes him a chance at longer odds.

Race 9

Jordan Anne (6) Honest mare who keeps racing well and should be right in the finish again today.

Flying Dreams (8) Freshened since her Addington win and looked sharp enough at the trials to threaten fresh.

Ridge (2) Has returned in excellent order this campaign and draws to get every chance here.

Race 10

Sans Repos (11) Made full use of the soft trip last start and confidence will be high after the upset win.

Auntie Deb (7) Forget the luckless effort last time. More than capable of featuring with clear air.

Rena (1) Forgive the latest after working early and the inside draw brings her right into calculations.

Race 11

B B King (5) Sharp winner last week after securing the perfect run and can handle the rise in grade.

Ann Sophie (1) Strong second two starts ago and the ace draw gives her every opportunity to bounce back.

Quicker Than Quick (10) Caught the eye late last week and with the right trail can spice up the multiples.
