Reefton selections — 8th March 2026

Harness Analyst Best Tips

Best Bet: R6 Normie Stead
Best Value: R3 Franco Tim

Race 1

Robbie K (6) Debut run had plenty of merit and natural improvement makes him a leading player here.
Mithali (1) Honest enough type who gets his chance from the front and should be in it for a long way.
Rependant (7) Resumes in a suitable race and could easily sneak into the money fresh.

Race 2

The Town Of Light (7) Still learning but did enough last time to suggest another top-four effort is within reach.
Whatsupman (5) Caught the eye on Friday and only needs to bring that effort again to be competitive.
Ultimatum (3) Looks close to breaking through and sets up as one of the hardest to beat.

Race 3

Franco Tim (1) Drops into a winnable grade and the ace draw gives him every chance to be in the finish.
Evidently (2) Tough customer who keeps turning up and should make his presence felt again.
Prosperity (3) Burst through late on day one and can go close again with a similar trip.

Race 4

Maroubra (4) Capable trotter when she gets it right and this looks a nice chance to go one better.
Prince Teka (5) Confidence will be up after the win and he can be dangerous again from the same mark.
Joany Baby (2) Worked home well enough last time and another economical run would see her right in it.

Race 5

Unico Tessa (3) Went close on Friday and looks set to play a major role again from a handy draw.
The Gangster (2) Honest type who should get a kinder run this time and stick on well.
Girl’s Night Out (6) Form is building quietly and another small step forward would put her in the placings.

Race 6

Normie Stead (1) Unlucky not to win on Friday and from the ace draw looks the one they all have to beat.
Apatchofgold (5) Can improve sharply with a smoother run and is good enough to be in the minors.
Captain Cool (2) Fresh horse with ability and he wouldn’t surprise if he ran a bold race first-up.

Race 7

Jasprit Trouble (1) Gets the right set up again and should be there fighting it out from the front line.
Buffy Northstains (8) In terrific touch and even from the handicap has to be respected.
Valyrian (9) Better than the bare result last time and could easily improve at odds.

Race 8

Bruntwood Brigade (6) Hard-fit and racing with confidence, so another big effort would be no surprise.
The Coalman (1) Maps to get the perfect trip and can be dangerous if the gaps come at the right time.
Mystery Beach (2) Hit the line well on Friday and can be right in the mix again from a handy mark.

Race 9

One Over Da Line (6) Comes off a strong Westport win and even from 10m looks the one to beat again.
Premium Player (8) Worked home nicely last time and his course record gives him real claims.
Rachmaninov (7) Grinding away well enough and should be around the money once more.

Race 10

Rapid Response (3) Useful recent effort and this looks a race where he can measure right up.
Foliejon Star (7) Never got clear room last time and is a major winning chance with any luck.
Mattie Nevin (8) Still on the way up and another forward run would not surprise at all.

Race 11

Matai Harry (13) Brave effort on Friday and even from the awkward draw he can still make an impact.
Samvasa (10) Went close last start and only needs the right cart into it to be dangerous.
Dancing N Heaven (3) Tough maiden win last time and the draw gives her every chance to back it up.
