Banks Peninsula selections — 15th March 2026
Harness Analyst Best Tips
Best Bet: R11 Foliejon Star
Best Value: R6 Prestigious
Race 1
Logan Rock (3) Went close at Reefton and from a much kinder alley looks one of the major players again.
Red Wine Kisses (4) Handy recent efforts suggest he can be competitive if he gets the right run through.
Justa Terra (2) Now with a strong barn and this could be the race where improvement shows quickly.
Race 2
Mount Thomas (1) Handy enough when last here and the inside draw gives him every chance to be in the finish.
Chocolate Angus (5) Has shown enough at this venue before to be worth keeping safe in a race like this.
B K Mumma Jamie (10) Grass-track ability gives her a chance if she begins cleanly from the unruly.
Race 3
Tact Franco (2) Trial form has been sound and she looks capable of making an immediate impact fresh-up.
Toffee Potts (12) Did enough at the trials to suggest she can be competitive despite the awkward gate.
Bella Ciao (5) Needs to lift a touch, but this field gives her a realistic place chance.
Race 4
Holly Highlander (11) Knocking on the door and another honest effort would see her right in the thick of it.
Joany Baby (1) Coast form has been strong and the ace gives her every chance to land a soft run.
The Merc (3) Forget the resumption run and she is more than capable of turning things around here.
Race 5
Marble Arch (3) Has created a good impression at the trials and looks one of the harder horses to beat on debut.
Harry’s Gold (10) Support was there first-up and he is worth another look if manners hold together.
Spicey Lou (2) Stable respect is enough to keep him safe from a tidy draw despite only fair trial form.
Race 6
Prestigious (5) Showed real ability at Ashburton and this grass-track debut gives her a genuine winning chance.
Barrytown (3) Better than the last run and can be dangerous if he steps away cleanly and lands handy.
Sheza Trendy One (10) Has race fitness and enough course form to be included in wider combinations.
Race 7
Katys Shadow (9) Strong resuming run and any natural improvement makes her a major hope despite the marble.
Flyaway (4) Much better draw this time and can bounce back into contention quickly.
Unico Tessa (8) Winning form is hard to knock and she has to be respected again even from a wider gate.
Race 8
Brookies Player (4) Tried hard in the North Island and if he handles the venue he can be very competitive.
Quinn (7) Has ability, but needs to show it again; one to include if the price is right.
Whatz My Choice (6) Ended last campaign with a tough grass-track win and has the right profile to resume boldly.
Race 9
The Royal Gamble (9) Ran into a smart one last time and there is no reason he cannot go close in this grade.
Valyrian (13) Capable on his day, but needs to bring manners; risky, though not hopeless.
Royal Del (2) Useful late work recently and the good course record keeps him firmly in the picture.
Race 10
The Coalman (3) Went close at Reefton and a first win here would be no shock from this draw.
Mystery Beach (4) Strong Coast efforts suggest he can measure up again from another handy gate.
Lavra Rose (8) Finally broke through last time and loves the grass, so another bold run would not surprise.
Race 11
Foliejon Star (3) Has been racing well enough to win one of these and draws to get every chance this time.
Bettor Go Vinnie (1) Confidence will be up after the last-start win and the inside gate makes him dangerous again.
Normie Stead (2) Very consistent for the new stable and should be on the speed throughout from this alley.
