Ashburton selections 25th March 2026

Harness Analyst Best Tips

Best Bet: R1 Monkee Major
Best Value: R5 Major Performer

Race 1

Monkee Major (2) Strong after working to the lead last week and gets the same handy draw again. Top selection
Swimming Poole (8) Has lacked a finishing punch since winning in December but has speed. One for odds
General Rebeck (3) Over raced badly resuming and may be better for that. Mobile will help and could lead

Race 2

Kotare Kelso (6) Worked to the top from wide out last week and this shorter trip can suit him better
Whatz My Choice (4) Nothing went right last start and back on the all weather he can bounce back
Mouton Cadet (7) Did enough last time to stay in the mix, although the draw makes it tougher again

Race 3

Dynasty (11) Confirmed the promise with a smart Addington win and looks capable of doubling up
Pyramid Rose (10) Bold last start second and her form is heading the right way. Major chance
Noah Magnific (1) Tough trip against her at Methven but from the ace can spice things up at odds

Race 4

The Highlander (4) Luckless last time and the Oamaru run before that was good enough for this. Include
Ar Gee Rulz (3) Fair enough at Addington from a wide gate and this draw gives him a better shot
Cheeky Red (9) Got too far back last time and did have excuses prior. Blowout chance on home track

Race 5

Major Performer (7) This is easier than recent assignments and he can improve sharply in this line up
Glaucus (8) Now with a new stable and his older southern form gives him a real winning chance fresh
Super Fund (2) Went rough early at Palmerston North but is worth another chance from this mark

Race 6

Sweet Bree (8) Has done little wrong so far and despite the draw still looks one of the better hopes
Mamas Crunch (12) Solid enough first-up and is one to respect, even from a tricky second row gate
Miss Woodville (7) Chased hard behind Sofia Rose last week and can work into this again. Include

Race 7

The Merc (6) Had his chance in front last week but is still improving and should be thereabouts again
Barrytown (9) Loves the short trip and chased hard last time. Looks set to be in the firing line
Solemn Son (5) Not brilliant lately but has shown enough to sneak into the minors in this field

Race 8

Sugar Babe (6) Resumes here and her maiden win had merit. Bright chance fresh in this grade
Sofia Rose (9) Won decisively last week and if she repeats that effort she will be hard to hold out
Jukebox Gypsy (2) Hard to believe she has gone so long without a win and the draw gives her a real hope
