Mixed results in APG Vicbred series for three year old fillies
The three heats of the APG Vicbred Series for three year old harness racing fillies produced mixed results for favourite backers.
Bettor Beach (Bettors Delight) showed her complete dominance with an effortless win in the first heat of APG Vicbred Super series at Kilmore on Thursday evening.

It was always going to be a case of Bettor Beach winning as she sped out of the gate to eventually cross Keayang Passion.
Mark Pitt had an armchair ride on Bettor Beach as she cruised along with a slick 26.7 seconds for the final quarter. At the finish she had plenty in reserve to easily defeat stable mate Pre Eminant and Keayang Passion.
Raced by her breeders Bruce and Vicki Edward Bettor Beach had an unsuccessful trip to Queensland but she really appreciated the drop in class and must be considered for the upcoming semi final and Final.
She is out of the Somebeachsomewhere mare Beach Garden a capable mare winning eleven races. At stud she has left the highly promising Keayang Renegade who is destined for better races.
BETTOR BEACH 27 AUG REPLAY
Things didn’t go according to plan for the Stewart Pitt team when their filly Quattro Moth couldn’t finish it off in her third placing in the second .
Victory went the way of Kyabram filly Heavenly Flyer (Rock N Roll Heaven) who caused a boilover when she obtained an inside run to win.
Quattro Moth led early but she was inclined to over race as Pitt tried to steady her for the business end of the race. Liam Older driving Heavenly Flyer was content to sit three back on the rails with Matriach Daisy behind the leader.
Quattro Moth cleared away when let go by Pitt on the final bend with what looked to be a winning break. But she started to paddle in the last 100 metres and was swamped close to the line first by Heavenly Flyer and then Isthisthereallife.
Heavenly Flyer’s dam Neishars Jet also left the consistent pacer Azterian who won ten races and Jet’s Art who won five.
The final heat went the way of Shepparton filly Alot Like Jeannie (Captain Crunch) in what turned out to be the most exciting finish of the evening.
The race turned out neatly for Alot Like Jeannie as she held the lead early from the pole. Favourite Sweet Irish Loch was wide early before being shuffled back in the field as was Conciliate who was caught three wide in the early stages before taking a trail.
Kerryn Manning on My Bettor Half worked around the field but she too was made to do work.
Laura Wilson who also trains Alot Like Jeannie held her filly together on the final bend. Michael Stanley’s filly Enola who had the run of the race behind the leader was waiting for the inside and she pounced on the lead in the home straight. But not to be denied Alot Like Jeannie kept finding something and in a very tight finish fought back to Enola by a short half head with My Bettor Half third ahead of Conciliate.
Alot Like Jeannie is raced by her breeder John Gilmour. She’s come good this time in with four wins from nine starts. She’s the first of the progeny of her dam the Four Starzz Shark mare Fashion Shark who was lightly raced for three wins.
