CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – The top pacing class returns to Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park on Wilbur And Pauline MacDonald Memorial Day Saturday with Miki Shan N (Rock N Roll Heaven) looking to keep his harness racing win streak alive in preparation for the Gold Cup and Saucer Trials.

The 16-dash card has a 4 P.M. opening post time on Saturday.
Race 15 is the $5,900 Preferred 1 Pace, and Miki Shan N will look to build off his $50,000 Governor’s Plate victory from post 5 for trainer Chris MacKay and owners Kap Singh Racing Stable, Stephen Klunowski, Earl Hill Jr., and Donald MacRae. Corey MacPherson picks up the catch drive.
Twin B Tuffenuff draws post 1 for trainer Ron Matheson and driver Gilles Barrieau. The 10-year-old veteran lands rail control after finishing fourth in the Governor’s Plate final. The son of Rock N Roll Heaven will try to go over $800,000 in lifetime earnings in the dash and looms large in this compact field.
Also in the dash are Bee Two Bee (To be driven by Jason Hughes), Roll Em (Marc Campbell) and Malignity (Paul Langille).
The Backstretch Beat likes Miki Shan N on top.
“Miki Shan N has been unbeatable through four starts in PEI, and he’s fresh off his dominating victory in the Governor’s Plate. He should get to the front with ease in this five horse field, so I’m betting he extends his winning streak to five.”
Race 10 carries a $6,300 purse for the Wilbur & Pauline MacDonald Memorial, and Mappos Lion (Post 7, Gilles Barrieau) is a top play from the Bo Ford barn for owners Hailee Currie and Carol Campbell. The son of Sunshine Beach was a winner his last start in 1:54.4 at Inverness Raceway in N.S.
Race 5 is another Wilbur & Pauline MacDonald Memorial pace, this one for a purse of $4,450, with Bentley (Post 1, Marc Campbell) the early choice for trainer John Clarey and owner Mike Clarey.
The PIPSC Charlottetown SH Subgroup Health Professionals Pace in Race 8 has Sports Royalty (Post 5, Marc Campbell) looking for his first win of the season for trainer Wendy MacRae, who co-owns with Beth MacRae.

All Bets On Tex Headlines Deep Preferred Class Sunday At Summerside
SUMMERSIDE, PE – A hard-knocking veteran who’s found a new gear headlines a deep group in Sunday afternoon’s Race 14 feature pace at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway, with a $5,000 purse on the line.
The 15-dash Sunday card has a 1 P.M., start time with the feature in the second-last race of the day.
The post 5 starter in the race 14 feature is All Bets On Tex, who was second in the Bob Dewar Memorial Governor’s Plate consolation two starts back. He now comes in fresh off a second-place finish against similar at Red Shores Charlottetown for trainer-driver Adam Merner and owners Blair MacLauchlan, Marc Gallant and Kent Livingston.
Lining up to try and spoil the party is Sauble Attack (Post 1, Ken Murphy) for trainer Paul Biggar. The Bettors Delight gelding has been razor-sharp in recent weeks, racing consistently against this class.
Howmac Charmer (Post 2, To be Driven by David Dowling) is another legitimate contender from the Kyle Williams barn. A winner in two of his last three, the five-year-old son of Malicious has hardly missed a top-three finish this season on the Prince County oval and will be prominent in the feature again.
Rose Run X Con (Post 3, Norris Rogers) is a classy customer who’s gone big miles at both Charlottetown and Summerside this year and boasts a lifetime mark of 1:52.1. He was a winner his last start in Summerside in 1:54.1 for owner JD Racing Inc., of Cornwall and trainer Nicholas Oakes.
Brookdale Johnny lands post 4 for trainer Phil Sizer and owner-breeders Doug Polley Sr., and Doug Polley Jr., of Amherst, N.S., with Paul Langille back in the race bike. The five-year-old son of Rockin In Heaven is fresh off a 1:56.2 score in Summerside’s top class.
The Backstretch Beat puts All Bets On Tex in the win position.
“All Bets On Tex has been facing the best pacers on the Eastern Seaboard so this class should be his to lose as he ships to Summerside. He’ll be bet heavy and he should be as he preps for Old Home Week 2025.”
