Three divisions of 2YO filly trotters will kick off the action this Wednesday afternoon. There is no nominating or starting fee for the events. Each series will have two legs and a final, with $10,000 in purse money for each leg and a $15,000 final. 14 QUALIFIERS SET FOR TUESDAY
Hollywood Casino at The Meadows will host 14 qualifying races on Tuesday morning (June 16), starting at 10:30am. Race 1-2 will be for older horses, with races 3-14 exclusively for two-year-olds. Racing fans can watch all of the action live on the Meadows Standardbred Owners Association’s Facebook page. Qualifier video is also archived at www.youtube.com/themsoa. Qualifying races begin at 10:30am.
CURRIER & IVES THURSDAY, FRIDAY
One of The Meadows most historic stake races, the Currier & Ives, will take place over two days this weekend. On Thursday afternoon, the $51,000 Currier & Ives 3YO Filly Trot will take place, and on Friday evening, it’s the $87,000 Currier & Ives 3YO Open Trot. This is the 52nd year for the Grand Circuit stake, which started in 1975. That year, the Open trot was won by Surefire Hanover and Stanley Dancer in 2:00.4, while the filly trot was won by Meadow Bright and Delvin Miller in 2:03.3. The stakes record for the Open trot was set in 2014 by Il Sogno Dream and David Miller, with a 1:53.2 effort. The filly record was set in 2024 by the now World Champion Allegiant, in 1:52.3. Hunter Myers drove Allegiant to that Currier & Ives victory.
