PENTAFECTA NOW A 20-CENT WAGER

The Meadows announces that beginning this Wednesday, March 11, the Pentafecta will now have a base minimum wager of 20 cents, dropping from 50 cents.  The Penta is offered daily on the final race of the card.

DEADLINE APPROACHING FOR SERIES ENTRIES

The final four Spring series events are coming up in April at The Meadows, but nominations are due this week.  March 16 is the deadline to enter late closer events for three-year-olds that are non-winners of 3 parimutuel races or $35,000 lifetime, up to and including March 15.  The events are for Pennsylvania owned or PA sired horses, and winners over $50,000 life as of March 15 are not eligible.  For more information, contact The Meadows’ Race Office, 724-229-6964.

UNDEFEATED COLT DEBUTS WEDNESDAY

Believeincaptain, a three-year-old colt by Captain Victorious, will make his sophomore debut at The Meadows in Wednesday’s seventh race.  Trained by Allen Sisco, who co-owns with Oldford Racing, Believeincaptain was Michigan’s state champion at age 2, earning more than $100,000 and going undefeated in nine races.  After taking the winter off, the colt qualified at The Meadows on February 25 in 1:56.1.  He has a mark of 1:57.1, taken at Fowlerville, Michigan on September 4 of last season, the final start of his freshman campaign.

THREE DAYS OF RACING THIS WEEK

Hollywood Casino at The Meadows is currently in its winter 3-day-per-week schedule, with racing on Wednesday through Friday afternoons at 12:45pm.  13 races are carded for this Wednesday.
