By Harnesslink ·

The Kyle Marshall Racing harness racing stable in Victoria, previously based at Cambridge in New Zealand, continues to thrive as Son Of Mac (American Ideal) secured their fourth win since making a move to Australia earlier in the year.

Making an impressive Aussie debut, the three-year-old colt triumphed over a mile at Kilmore on Thursday, (Jun 29).

Building on recent stable successes by Smoken Ace (two wins) and Wharewhiti, Son Of Mac delivered a dominant performance. Starting from the second row behind the mobile, trainer Kyle Marshall skillfully guided the young colt into the fifth position, utilizing the running line.

Marshall patiently waited until the final lap before commencing Son Of Mac’s forward run to the parked postion. As the race reached the 400m mark, Son Of Mac pulled alongside the leader still in cruising mode until at the entry to the home straight Marshall gave the colt the green light and allowed him to effortlessly cruise down to the finish line.

The victory by Son Of Mac yielded the short odds of $1.20 for a win and $1.04 for a place at the Australian TAB.

Son Of Mac paced the mile in 1:57.5 with a closing 800m in 56.3 seconds.
