November 18, 2016 – The Minnesota Racing Commission has received live race day requests for 2017 from Canterbury Park Entertainment, LLC and Running Aces Casino and Racetrack.

Canterbury Park is requesting 67 days of live Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse racing from May 5, 2017 to September 16, 2017. The live racing request includes a 49 day mixed meet to be run May 26th thru August 20th.  Each day’s program will include between eight and fifteen races. Post times requested are: 6:30 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays, with the exception of May 5th; 12:45 p.m. on remaining Saturdays, Sundays, and Holiday Mondays; and 4:00 p.m. on Friday, May 5th and Monday, July 3, 2017.

Running Aces is requesting 52 days of Standardbred harness racing to be raced three days a week from May 20, 2017 to September 16, 2017. Each day’s program will include between eight and twelve races. Post times requested are: 7:00 p.m. on Tuesdays: and 6:00 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

The Racing Commission will conduct a public hearing on these requests on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at 3:45 p.m. at the University of Minnesota Ben Pomeroy Student/Adult Learning Center, 1964 Fitch Ave., Room 215, St. Paul, MN.

The Racing Commission will consider these requests at its December Full Commission meeting, which will begin immediately following the Public Hearing at the same location as listed above.
