Letitrideluv impresses at debut
Two year old gelding Letitrideluv (Ride High) certainly created an impression winning his debut against older horses in the Australian Pacing Gold Maiden at Melton on Friday evening.

Despite his second row draw, Letitrideluv was well supported as second favourite and driver Josh Duggan was able to spear his way through the pack to take the gun trail behind leader and favourite La Cantatrice.
The leader set a comfortable pace in front and was looking the one to beat on the final bend. However with the run of the race Letitrideluv came off the fence and he finished too well over La Cantratrice winning by over seven metres with Teerdee another first starter finishing on for third.
Interestingly the first three placegetters were all two year olds in the ten horse field.
LETITRIDELUV 1 MAY REPLAY
Letitrideluv is trained at Beeac by Courtney Slater who achieved Group 1 success with Goodtime Heaven. Slater with 228 training wins trains a useful team at her establishment and is never far away from the winners circle.
Ride High the sire of Letitrideluv who stands at Alabar Farm was an outstanding youngster having won 16 of his 18 career starts before injury curtailed his racing career. He’s already the sire of a Group 1 performer in Ride The Highs.
Letitrideluv is out of the Village Jasper mare Luvthisone who only had 26 starts for eight wins and seven placings. She was also trained by Slater in her short racing career which was highlighted as a four year old when she took out a Winter Championship Final at Melton with a best time of 1.54.8.
Retired in March 2019, Luvthisone is also the dam of promising three year old Luvtobeupto (Always B Miki) who’s already won two races as a two year old for Slater running a best time of 1.53.7 and running a very credible third in the IRT Breeders Crown at Melton last December. Luvthisone has also left a yearling filly by Art Major.
