Ladbrokes secure superstar pacer for slot race

By Harnesslink ·

As reported by Jay Rooney for The West Australian, Ladbrokes has pulled off a big coup by securing WA harness racing superstar Magnificent Storm (American Ideal) for its slot in the inaugural $1 million The Nullarbor at Gloucester Park in April.

Magnificent Storm

Rated WA’s best current pacer, the Ray Williams-trained gelding is the early favourite for the historic slot race and Group 1s the Fremantle Cup and WA Pacing Cup on January 13 and 27.

Magnificent Storm is the second confirmed starter in The Nullarbor, joining Lavra Joe who will represent the RAM Racing Syndicate.

“We’re absolutely ecstatic to team up with Ladbrokes for this exciting new race,” Magnificent Storm’s managing owner Rob Tomlinson said.

“They approached us about it. They spoke very highly of our horse and we just think they’re a great fit for us.

“It’s very exciting to have a new race like this in our own backyard.

“We just love the whole concept of The Nullarbor.”
