Jingle du Pont takes Grand National du Trot Leg 6

The sixth leg of the traveling trotting series GrandNational du Trot (also named today GP Jacques Moreau, Gr. III, purse 90,000€, 2850 meters voltstart distance handicap, 16 harness racing starters ages 6-10) at Laval went to1.6/1 odds favorite Jingle du Pont (6g Niky-Tina du Pont-Urfist des Pres) timed in 1.13.1kr.

Nicolas Bazire drove and trains this nine time career winner of 277,680€ for owner Richard Padovani. Home second was 10/1 odds Ibiza Bella (7f Bold Eagle-Ursula Bella-Goetmals Wood) with Antoine Wiels handling the J.P. Marmion owned and  trained trotteur. Hold Up du Saptel (8g Uriel Speed-Saga Sport) was third at 12/1 odds for trainer/driver P.Y. Verva and owner/breeder Eric Lemaitre. Two 25 meter handicapped horses were fourth and fifth, those being 48/1odds Harley Gema (8f Bold Eagle-Reedite Gede-Buvetier d’Aunou) with Benjamin Rochard driving and 42/1 Hulysse Digeo (8g Reve de Beylev) for trainer/driver J.W. Hallais.

The points leaders after today are 31 for Jamin de Brion, 24 Indy de Jyr, 21Ibiza Bello, 19 for Hello Paname and 17 for both Jingle du Pont and Je Reve du Bois. The Bazire team has now secured six GNT leg wins with today’s Jingle du Pont with trainer Nicolas aboard. The prior wins were accomplished by trainer/driver Jean Michel Bazirewith Quomba de Geuz in 2010 then Val Royal, Belina Josselyn, Cleangame and Calaska de Guez.
