Indy de Jyr wins Grand National du Trot

Today’s Grand National du Trot Leg 7 (Gr. III, purse 90,000€, 2950 meters distance handicap, 16 harness racing starters ages 5-10) at Toulouse went to 3.4/1 odds Indy de Jyr (7g Theo Josselyn-Sidonie) driven by Benjamin Rochard that overcame a 25 meter penalty to  score timed in 1.12.7kr.

The Marc Sassier trainee is owned by Ecurie Jyr and now has 10 career wins in 57 starts for 304,220€.  Jeanette Priory (6f Tag Wood-Malice) was second at 4.8/1  odds handled by his trainer Tony Le Beller and owner Franck Gibert. The 8.6/1 Horatius d’Ela (8m Brillantissime) overcame a 25 meter penalty to be third driven by Matthieu Abrivard for trainer Sassier andowner Eric Pierre.  Fourth was 13/1 odds Generous Charm (9g Prodigious)  for Patrice Gesret.

The undercard featured the monte Grand National des Jockeys (purse 35,000€, 2950 meters distance handicap, 13 European starters ages 6-11) with victory to 6/10 odds favorite  Jupiter de Play (6g Dragon du Fresne-Cephee de Kacy) that overcame a 25 meter handicap to score in 1.14.6kr.

Alexandre Abrivard was the winning jockey for trainer Leo Abrivard and owner Jacques Cottel. This was the winner’s sixth career win and he has 228,480€ earned. Hot Summer (8g Ugor de Beauvoisin) was second at 29/1 odds with Quentin Seguin in the irons as he  too overcame a 25 meter penalty. J.M. Roubaud trains this one for owner Sylvain Roubaud. The 7.9/1 Charles OP (7m Mack Grace SM) was third with Gaetan Gilard the jockey  for trainer Yannick Henry followed by fourth finishing 79/1 In Love de Valmier (7g  Thorens Vedaquais) and jockey Lola Regnier.
