Indy de Jyr takes Grand National Trot Leg 8

The eighth leg  of the prestigious Grand National du Trot series was the Prix du Trot Ville de Saint Malo (Gr III, purse 90,000€, 2950 meters distance handicap, 16 starters) this  day at Hippodrome de Saint Malo.

The 4.4/1 odds Indy de Jyr (7g Theo  Josselyn-Sidonie-Hand du Vivier) overcame a 25 meter handicap and scored in 1.13.0kr with Benjamin Rochard up for trainer Marc Sassier for Ecurie JYR. The winner now has earned 11 victories in 58 starts for 385,220€.

Home second was 14/1 Igrec de Celland (7m Django Riff-Topaze de Tillard) ,also penalized 25 meters, for David Thomain and conditioner Christophe Jariel who also owns this one.

Third was 4.3/1 odds Kataki de Wallis (5m Charly du Noyer) with Gabriele Gelormini up for Alain Chavatte followed by 8.2/1 Jeannette Priory (6f Tag Wood) and 2.6/1King  Opera (5m Ready Cash) who faced  a 25 meter penalty..

The  August  5 version of Tour European du Trotteur Francais was at Mons Ghlin named the Prixde L’Amite Franco Belge Belgique (purse 25,000€,  2300 meters autostart, 15 starters) saw 9/10 odds favorite Instrumentalise (7m Ready Cash-Ulzhane) score timed in 1.11.9kr. 

Michael Nimczyk teamed the Sebastien Guarato trainee for Gianni Fascella. The winner now sports eight career wins in 40 starts for 378,000€. Jakartas des Pres (6m Scipion du Goutier-Union des Pres) was second at 7/1 with trainer Maxime Bezier driving. Hold Up Ranais (8g Quaker Jet) captured third for Gunther Loix for trainer Bezier off at 70/1 odds. The 116/1 Halfa (8f Offshore Dream) was fourth for trainer/driver Stephane Levoy with 67/1 Esteban Jiel (11g  Coktail Jet) fifth with Geert Lennoo up for Jean Luc Dersoir.
