I Am Hellbound in Relentless form
Star New South Wales trotter I Am Hellbound (Father Patrick) served notice that he will be hard to beat in next week’s Great Square with a decisive harness racing win in the 2026 Yabby Dam Farms Stellar Square at Albion Park on Saturday evening.

Fresh from winning the Yamamoto Trotters Mile at Menangle a week ago, I Am Hellbound showed no ill effects in making the trip to Brisbane where he was making his debut at Albion Park.
Confidently supported into favouritism I Am Hellbound’s main danger was considered to be fellow New South Wales trotter Superior Stride. Showing his trademark early speed Superior Stride quickly found the lead.
I AM HELLBOUND 27 JUN REPLAY
I Am Hellbound was wide early but settled back at the rear. But with about 1400 metres left to travel I Am Hellbound was let loose by driver Scott Hewitt and he took up the running from Superior Stride.
Once in front it was obvious that I Am Hellbound was going to be the one to beat and only Superior Stride raised a challenge on straightening when he made a run along the inside.

Nonetheless I Am Hellbound looked to have plenty in reserve and he ran his last quarter in 27.5 seconds looking every inch a star as he strode five metres clear of Superior Stride. Queensland trained filly Raffie Jay who finished third was the first local to finish and in doing so earned an invitation for next week’s Group 1 $150,000 Great Square at Albion Park.
I Am Hellbound has improved in leaps and bounds and this season he’s already won eight races from sixteen appearances. Trainer Scott Hewitt has the gelding in superb condition and he is bound to be at his best in next week’s classic feature where he is likely to clash with Victorian star Meccano.
The winner of the Great Square will qualify for the Inter Dominion Trotters Final on 18 July and if I Am Hellbound is successful next week trainer Scott Hewitt will be sorely tempted to take his place in the Inter Dominion. Even so I Am Hellbound continues to improve and there will be many other trotting features that he could tackle.
Superior Stride was clearly beaten on the night but he has speed and impeccable manners on his side and he will give another good account of himself in the Great Square.
