Huta runs his rivals ragged

Trainer Jason Grimson’s harness racing success continued this time back at his Sydney headquarters when Huta (Always B Miki) packed too many guns winning the Ultra Air Pace at Menangle Park on Saturday night.

However with stable driver Cameron Hart away and Grimson himself elected to stay in Brisbane where he was driving Heza PunkRocker and Bella Danza.

HUTA 25 JUNE REPLAY

It was left to capable junior driver Jye Coney to take the reins and with his wide draw, Huta was not fancied as noted speedster Ripp was considered the one to beat.

However showing blistering early speed Huta worked his way to the front as the field ran a scintillating 26 seconds for the first quarter. Piccadilly Pete took the trail while the well fancied Smoken Ace settled back in the back half of the field.

Form horse Glitter And Gold had a horror run as he was three wide after they settled down and he was beaten a fair way from home.

However Huta stole a break on his opponents as they turned for home as Piccadilly Pete tried to rein the leader in. But Huta had cleared away with a winning break in the home straight. It was left to Smoken Ace to chase down the leader from out wide but Huta packed too many guns in winning by just under five metres from Smoken Ace with Piccadilly Pete two metres away in third.

Huta ran an impressive 1.50.5 which is the fastest time that he has ever recorded.

Huta is raced by Mick Boots who achieved Group 1 success last week at Albion Park with Palladium in the Queensland Derby and Captains Mistress in the Final of the Inter Dominion pacers.

The New Zealand bred gelding was previously prepared by Emma Turnbull and joined Grimson’s stables ten months ago in September 2025.

Huta’s win gave Jye Coney a winning double as earlier in the night he guided Vite Monet (Warrawee Needy) to an all the way win in the Bestinbeds Pace rating 1.54.9 for the 2300 metre trip.
