Holbrough chasing more success after Geraldine double
Holbrough chasing more success after Geraldine double
After a winning double at Geraldine on Sunday, Mia Holbrough now has her sights set on further success at Addington’s mid-week meeting.

At Orari her dual victories were with the Jamie Gameson-trained BJ Hunnicutt as well as now 24-race winner Buffy Northstains for Bruce Negus.
“It was a great day at Geraldine – I was very happy,” says Holbrough.
Negus and Holbrough will team up with three more runners on Wednesday – Aradne, The Seamstress and Fox Terror with her other drive being Ward Lamon who’s debuting for Peter and Mitchell Robertson, after previously being with Southland trainer Kirk Larsen.
All four of her drives look to be each-way prospects starting with Aradne in Race 2. She had been consistent before a last start ninth at Winton last Thursday.
“She was just ok,” says Holbrough, “and she’s had some time on the beach at Waikouaiti so hopefully that will get her a bit fitter.”
It’s a similar story with her next drive The Seamstress, a 29-start maiden who was sixth at Addington last Wednesday.
“She was going great with seconds and thirds in good maiden fields and then last time she put a pretty average one in but she’s trained on well and seems fine and happy,” says Holbrough.
The Sky Major four-year-old has drawn handily at 2.
“She has gate speed too so we will see whether we lead or drop in behind the one (Miss Woodville).”
Ward Lamon has also drawn two in Race 4. The Downbytheseaside five-year-old has won three from 54.
“I’ve seen his races down south and he’s been consistent – always there or thereabouts – but I don’t know as much about him as the others.”
In the last of the day, her other runner Fox Terror has also been knocking on the door of late. The Terror To Love four-year-old was fresh up at Addington last Wednesday.
“It was a good run. He was four back the fence and finished fourth.”
“He should be fitter for the run and looks to be a top three chance.”
And that pretty much sums up all four of her drives as she attempts to keep her winning momentum going.

She now has 17 wins this year, already three up on her personal best haul of 14 in 2025.
