Hohneck wins 120,000€ Criterium de Vitesse

Today’s Argentan featured Criterium de Vitesse de Basse Normandie (Gr. II International, purse 120,000€, 1609 meters autostart, 14 harness racing starters ages 4-11) saw champion Hohneck (8m Royal Dream-Caranca-Ready Cash-Sanawa) score in 1.09.2kr (mile time 1:51.3) on the engine with Gabriele Gelormini up at 1.1/1  odds.

This Philippe Allaire owned and trained veteran was bred by J.P. Guay and he now  posts 22 career wins in 69 starts for 2,763,568€ earned. Hohneck will appear soon in the Yonkers NY Interational.  The  18/1 Ideal Ligneries (7m Repeat Love-Ouragane) finished  second for trainer/driver J. Ph. Monclin and owner Roger Wittmann. Home third was 78/1 Elegance Kronos (5f Muscle Hill-Pampered Winner) driven by Leo Abrivard for trainer L.Cl. Abrivard  and Jean Pierre Barjon the owner. Jack Tonic (6m Charly du Noyer) was fourth at 3.6/1 driven by Theo Duvaldestin followed by 105/1 Ksar (5m Follow Yoi), 4.5/1 Falco Killer Gar (4m Varenne) and 149/1 Jeegha Pride (6f Charly du Noyer)

On the card were two more mile distance events. The Prix Quaker Jet(purse 27,000€, 1609 meters autostart, 14  European starters ages 6-9) saw  65/1 odds  Global Duty (6g Trixton-Global Mix) score timed in 1.10.4kr (mile time 1:53.2) with Florian Desmigneaux aboard for Jeremy Merer training for Bronsman AB.

Global Duty earned his third win in France and he advanced his life earnings to 104.991€. He defeated 5/10 favorite Derby Kronos (6m Muscle Hill-Variety Wise As) with Damien Bonne driving the H,E. Bondo trainee.

The Prix Up And Quick (purse  24,000€, 1609 meters autostart, 11 European five year old starters) was the other sprinter event with victory to 6.4/1 Kendrick (5g Ouragon de Celland-Via Stella).

J.Ph. Monclin  piloted this one for Scuderia Twister timed in 1.11.1kr (mile 1:54.3) that Mattia Monaco trains.  The winner now has seven career  wins in 22 outings in France for 79,525€  earned.
