SRF: 25 still needs to be rescued from slaughter

Cream Ridge, NJ – August 23, 2021 – The Standardbred Retirement Foundation, (SRF) with the help of some very wonderful and caring people, has been able to help nearly 40% of the 61 harness racing trotters and pacers scheduled to ship for slaughter on Tuesday, August 24, 2021.
Twenty-five still need homes, others still need donations in varying amounts. Click here to see the information.
So many of these horses are in rough shape, emaciated, injured, even neurologic. Already this year SRF has helped 447 trotters and pacers that were standing on the slaughter line. Once rehabilitated nearly all go on to be loved in many types of homes, as therapy horses, Police mounts, a family trail horse and more.
SRF is pleading for them. Staff and volunteers are standing by to expedite help offers, homes, fosters, donations.
These horses are in Shippensburg, Pa. Ironically, a state with a great amount of subsidy for racing purses and breeders awards. To Offer a Home or Foster Home:
